New statistics show that 2010 was, along with 2005 and 1998 was ranked the warmest year on record, which appears to make global warming more evident in our society today. The global average temperature for this past year was 0.53 degress celsius, which is above the mean period from 1961-1990. Places like Arctic Canada were considered to be "Exceptionally warm" by the WMO.
“The 2010 data confirm the Earth’s significant long-term warming trend,” said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud. “The 10 warmest years on record have all occurred since 1998.”
